Regular vs Imperfect San Pedro Cactus Cuttings
How do we Grade our Cacti?
At San Pedro Source, we have devised a grading system to offer a distinction between the cosmetic qualities of the cactus cuttings we offer, categorizing them into either regular or imperfect. Since imperfections happen naturally that we can’t always control, we like to offer both options to our customers. However we like to emphasise that no matter what kind you choose we will always do our best to send you healthy, pest free cactus. This quick guide will show you some of the differences between regular and imperfect cuttings so you can know what to expect.
Regular Cuttings
Regular cuttings typically have minimal scarring and normal growth patterns. We do our best to limit blemishes but occasional scrapes or pokes are to be expected, even on regular plants. Here are some examples of regular columnar cacti that you can expect to receive from us, with healthy growth and minor scuffs, as well as some of our penis cacti:
Imperfect Cuttings
Imperfect cuttings have only cosmetic blemishes or irregular growth patterns and are otherwise in perfect health and pest free, making them a great value for those who don’t mind a bit of extra character with their cactus. On columnar cacti you may see this from things such as mild sun damage, pest damage, or general wear and tear. On our penis cactus it varies as well.
Conclusion
To wrap things up, there is no such thing as a perfect cactus. While we try to get as close as we can to offering you pristine, healthy cacti, sometimes things happen and a cactus gains a new beauty mark or two. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out!
